Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK BLINKING CONDITION OF LED7 
    1. 5 seconds after the seat vibrator switch SW1 is pressed, check if LED7 blinks (see SYSTEM DIAGRAM ).

    Result: 

    RESULT REFERENCE

    Result Proceed to
    Blinks A
    Does not blink B

    B:  Go to step  3

    A: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SEAT VIBRATOR MODULE - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the S29 seat vibrator module connector
    2. Measure the voltage and resistance according to the values in the table below

    Standard voltage 

    VOLTAGE SPECIFICATION

    Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
    S29-1 (IG) - Body ground Power switch OFF Below 1 V
    S29-1 (IG) - Body ground Power switch ON (IG) 11 to 14 V

    Standard resistance 

    RESISTANCE REFERENCE

    Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
    S29-8 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: REPLACE SEAT VIBRATOR MODULE ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )

  3. CHECK BLINKING CONDITION OF LED6 
    1. 5 seconds after the seat vibrator switch SW1 is pressed, check if LED6 blinks (see SYSTEM DIAGRAM )

    Result: 

    RESULT REFERENCE

    Result Proceed to
    Blinks A
    Does not blink B

    B: END (SEAT VIBRATOR SWITCH IS DEFECTIVE) 

    A: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SEAT VIBRATOR SWITCH - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the Y2 switch connector.
    2. Measure the voltage and resistance according to the values in the table below

    Standard voltage 

    VOLTAGE SPECIFICATION

    Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
    Y2-1 (IG) - Body ground Power switch OFF Below 1 V
    Y2-1 (IG) - Body ground Power switch ON (IG) 11 to 14 V

    Standard resistance 

    RESISTANCE REFERENCE

    Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
    Y2-5 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SEAT VIBRATOR SWITCH - SEAT VIBRATOR MODULE) 
    1. Disconnect the S29 seat vibrator module connector
    2. Disconnect the Y2 switch connector
    3. Measure the resistance according to the values in the table below.

    Standard resistance 

    Result: 

    RESULT REFERENCE

    Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
    Y2-3 (MPX) - S29-3 (LIN) Always Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  6. CHECK SEAT VIBRATOR SWITCH (OPERATION) 
    1. Replace the seat vibrator switch with a new or normally operating one Perform an operation inspection

      OK: Seat vibrator operates normally. 

    NG: REPLACE SEAT VIBRATOR MODULE ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )

    OK: END (SEAT VIBRATOR SWITCH IS DEFECTIVE)
