Inspection Procedure

  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST BY INTELLIGENT TESTER (SLIDING ROOF OPERATION) 
    1. Select the ACTIVE TEST, use the intelligent tester to generate a control command, and then check that the sliding roof slides open/close and tilts up/down.

      OFF: Sliding roof is not operating

      OK: 

      Sliding roof operates normally. 

    NG: REPLACE SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR SUB-ASSEMBLY (SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU) 

    OK: Go to Next Step 

  2. READ VALUE OF INTELLIGENT TESTER (SLIDING ROOF SWITCH) 
    1. Use the DATA LIST to check if the sliding roof switch is functioning properly.

      OPEN SW Slide switch open signal/ON or OFF ON: OPEN switch is pressed.
      OFF: OPEN switch is not pressed.

      OFF: CLOSE switch is not pressed.

      UP SW Tilt switch up signal/ON or OFF ON: UP switch is pressed.
      OFF: UP switch is not pressed.

      DOWN SW Tilt switch down signal/ON or OFF ON: DOWN switch is pressed.
      OFF: DOWN switch is not pressed.
      -

      OK: 

      The intelligent tester displays as shown in the table according to the operation of each switch. 

    OK: REPLACE SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR SUB-ASSEMBLY (SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU) 

    NG: Go to Next Step 

  3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU - ROOF CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the Q7 and Q2 connectors.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Q7-2 (E) - Q2-5 (GND3) Always Below 1 Ω
      Q7-7 (OPN) - Q2-3 (OPN) Always Below 1 Ω
      Q7-8 (DWN) - Q2-2 (DOWN) Always Below 1 Ω
      Q7-9 (CLS) - Q2-1 (CLS) Always Below 1 Ω
      Q7-10 (UP) - Q2-4 (UP) Always Below 1 Ω
      Q2-1 (CLS) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      Q2-2 (DOWN) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      Q2-3 (OPN) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      Q2-4 (UP) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      Q2-5 (GND3) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: REPLACE ROOF CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY (SLIDING ROOF CONTROL SWITCH)
