FOOTWELL Light: Inspection

- INSPECT FOOTWELL LIGHT
- Disconnect the E53 or E54 footwell light connector.
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the tables below.
Standard voltage: LH Side
TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITIONTester Connection Condition Specified Condition E53-2 - E53-1 Any door is opened. 10 to 14 V Any door is unlocked when the engine switch is off and all doors are closed. 10 to 14 V The engine switch is turned from off to on (IG) when all doors are closed. 10 to 14 V The engine switch is turned from on (IG) to off when all door are closed. Below 1 V All doors are locked when the engine switch is off. Below 1 V RH Side
TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITIONTester Connection Condition Specified Condition E54-2 - E54-1 Any door is opened. 10 to 14 V Any door is unlocked when the engine switch is off and all doors are closed. 10 to 14 V The engine switch is turned from off to on (16) when all doors are closed. 10 to 14 V The engine switch is turned from on (16) to off when all door are closed. Below 1 V All doors are locked when the engine switch is off. Below 1 V If the result is not as specified, there is a malfunction on the wire harness side.
- Apply battery voltage to the footwell light connector.
- Check that the footwell light comes on.

Battery negative (-) → Terminal 1Footwell light comes on If the result is not as specified, replace the footwell light assembly.
