FOOTWELL Light: Inspection

  1. INSPECT FOOTWELL LIGHT 
    1. Disconnect the E53 or E54 footwell light connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the tables below.

      Standard voltage: LH Side 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E53-2 - E53-1 Any door is opened. 10 to 14 V
      Any door is unlocked when the engine switch is off and all doors are closed. 10 to 14 V
      The engine switch is turned from off to on (IG) when all doors are closed. 10 to 14 V
      The engine switch is turned from on (IG) to off when all door are closed. Below 1 V
      All doors are locked when the engine switch is off. Below 1 V

      RH Side 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E54-2 - E54-1 Any door is opened. 10 to 14 V
      Any door is unlocked when the engine switch is off and all doors are closed. 10 to 14 V
      The engine switch is turned from off to on (16) when all doors are closed. 10 to 14 V
      The engine switch is turned from on (16) to off when all door are closed. Below 1 V
      All doors are locked when the engine switch is off. Below 1 V

      If the result is not as specified, there is a malfunction on the wire harness side.

    3. Apply battery voltage to the footwell light connector.
    4. Check that the footwell light comes on.

      OK 

      MEASUREMENT CONDITION

      Measurement Condition Specified Condition
      Battery positive (+) → Terminal 2
      Battery negative (-) → Terminal 1
      Footwell light comes on

      If the result is not as specified, replace the footwell light assembly.
