Inspection Procedure

NOTE:
- Turn the engine switch off before measuring the resistances of CAN bus main wires and CAN bus branch wires.
- After the engine switch is turned off, check that the key reminder warning system and light reminder warning system are not in operation.
- Before measuring the resistance, leave the vehicle as is for at least 1 minute and do not operate the engine switch, any other switches, or the doors. If any doors need to be opened in order to check connectors, open the doors and leave them open.
- CHECK OPEN IN CAN NO. 1 BUS WIRE (GATEWAY ECU BRANCH WIRE)
- Turn the engine switch off,
- Disconnect gateway ECU connector E25.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance
RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONTester Connection Condition Specified Value E25-16 (CA1H) - E25-15 (CA1L) Engine switch on (IG) 54 to 69 Ω
NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE CAN NO. 1 BUS BRANCH WIRE OR CONNECTOR (GATEWAY ECU)
OK: Go to Next Step
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BATT, IG1, IG2, GND)
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance
RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONTester Connection Condition Specified Value E25-4 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω - Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard voltage
VOLTAGE SPECIFICATIONTester Connection Condition Specified Value E25-2 (BATT) - Body ground Always 10 to 14 V E25-10 (IG1) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 10 to 14 V E25-9 (IG2) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 10 to 14 V
NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK: REPLACE GATEWAY ECU
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
