Rear Speed Sensor: Installation: Installation
While the battery is connected, even if the engine switch is off, the brake control system activates when the brake pedal is depressed or the door courtesy switch turns on. Therefore during servicing of the brake system components, do not operate the brake pedal and open/close the doors while the battery is connected.
HINT:
- The procedures listed below are for the RH side.
- Other than areas where instructions are provided, use the same procedures for the LH side and RH side.
- INSTALL REAR SPEED SENSOR RH
- Install the sensor with the bolt.
Torque: 8.5 N*m (87 kgf*cm, 75 in.*lbf)
NOTE:- The rear speed sensor is easily damaged. When installing the rear speed sensor to the rear axle hub RH, do not use excessive force to rotate and install it.
- Prevent foreign matter from attaching to the sensor tip.
- Do not drop the sensor. If the sensor has been dropped, replace the sensor with a new one.
- Install the sensor with the bolt.
- INSTALL SKID CONTROL SENSOR WIRE
- Connect the connector to the rear speed sensor.
- Install the sensor clamp with the bolt.
Torque: 8.5 N*m (87 kgf*cm, 75 in.*lbf)
NOTE:Do not twist the sensor wire when installing the clamps.
- Connect the pad wear indicator connector.
- Install the sensor clamp with the nut.
Torque: 5.5 N*m (56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf)
NOTE:Do not twist the sensor wire when installing the clamps.
- Except for coil spring type suspension:
- Install the sensor clamp (labeled A) with the nut (labeled B).
Torque: 5.5 N*m (56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf)
- Connect the rear height control sensor connector (labeled C).
- Install the sensor clamp (labeled A) with the nut (labeled B).
- Insert the connector and grommet to the inside of the vehicle through the hole in the wheel house.
- for RH:
- Connect the rear speed sensor wire connector.
- for LH:
- Install the No. 1 skid control sensor clamp with the nut.

Torque: 8.0 N*m (82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf)
- Attach the skid control sensor wire.
- Connect the sensor connector.
- Install the No. 1 skid control sensor clamp with the nut.

- CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL NOTE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected. Refer to INITIALIZATION .
- INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 16
- CHECK SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL
- Check the speed sensor signal. Refer to TEST MODE PROCEDURE .
