Rear Acceleration Sensor: Removal: Removal

  1. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 1
  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    WARNING: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
    NOTE: w/ Navigation System (for HDD):

    After the engine switch is turned off, the display and navigation module display (HDD navigation system) records various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, be sure to wait for the time specified in the following table before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

    Vehicle not enrolled in safety connect system 1 minute
  3. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 3
  4. REMOVE ROPE HOOK ASSEMBLY  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 4
  5. REMOVE ROPE HOOK  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 5
  6. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE BOARD RH  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 6
  7. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT NO. 1 LIGHT ASSEMBLY  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 8
  8. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT NO. 2 TRIM HOOK (w/o Rear Cooler)  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 9
  9. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER FRONT  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 11
  10. REMOVE REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 12
  11. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER ASSEMBLY RH  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 14
  12. REMOVE ACCELERATION SENSOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the connector.

    2. Remove the bolt and sensor with bracket.
      NOTE:
      • Avoid any impact to the suspension control acceleration sensor.
      • Do not drop the acceleration sensor. If it is dropped, replace it with a new one.
      • The acceleration sensor removed from the vehicle must not be placed upside down.
