Removal [09/2014 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1 or PROCEDURE - Step 1

  2. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 or PROCEDURE - Step 2

  3. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3 or PROCEDURE - Step 3

  4. DISCONNECT NO. 2 VENTILATION HOSE 

    See step  6

  5. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE 

    See step  7

  6. REMOVE IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the inverter reservoir tank assembly.

    2. for Bank 1:

      1. Remove the 3 nuts and disconnect the clamp labeled A using a clip remover. Then, disconnect the clamp labeled B using needle-nose pliers.
        NOTE:

        Do not damage the claws of the clamp.

      2. Disconnect the manifold absolute pressure sensor connector, VVT sensor connector and 3 ignition coil connectors to disconnect the engine wire.
      3. Remove the 3 bolts and 3 ignition coils.

      for Bank 2:

      1. Remove the 2 nuts and disconnect the clamp.
      2. Disconnect the VVT sensor connector and 3 ignition coil connectors to disconnect the engine wire.
      3. Remove the 3 bolts and 3 ignition coils.
  7. REMOVE SPARK PLUG 
    1. Remove the 6 spark plugs.
