Installation [08/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY 

    HINT: 

    Perform "Inspection After Repairs" after replacing the fuel injector assembly (Refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2015 - ] ).

    1. Attach the 3 clamps to install the No. 6 wire harness to the fuel delivery pipe.
    2. Attach the 3 clamps to install the No. 7 wire harness to the No. 2 fuel delivery pipe.
    3. Apply gasoline or spindle oil to a new O-ring and install the O-ring to the injector.
      NOTE:

      Make sure that there is no damage or foreign material in the groove of the injector when installing the O-ring.

    4. Connect the injector connector.
    5. Install the injector to the delivery pipe as shown in the illustration.

      NOTE:
      • Make sure that there are no scratches or foreign matter in or around the insertion hole of the delivery pipe.
      • When inserting the injector, be careful not to damage the O-ring.
      • Attach the part of the injector labeled B between the parts of the delivery pipe labeled A.
    6. Check that each injector is installed to the delivery pipe facing the direction shown in the illustration.

  2. INSTALL NO. 2 FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the 2 delivery pipe spacers and 4 insulators to the cylinder head LH.
    2. Install the delivery pipe together with the injectors to the cylinder head LH.
    3. Install the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 21 N*m (214 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf) 

      NOTE:

      Make sure that the part of the injector labeled B is between the parts of the delivery pipe labeled A.

    4. Connect the No. 7 wire harness connector.
  3. INSTALL FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the 2 delivery pipe spacers and 4 insulators to the cylinder head RH.
    2. Install the delivery pipe together with the injectors to the cylinder head RH.
    3. Install the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 21 N*m (214 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf)

    4. Connect the No. 6 wire harness connector.
  4. CONNECT FUEL HOSE 
    1. Connect the fuel hose to the fuel No. 2 fuel delivery pipe (Refer to PRECAUTION [08/2015 - ] ).
  5. CONNECT WIRE HARNESS AND HOSE 
    1. Connect the purge VSV connector.
    2. Connect the purge line hose to the purge VSV.
    3. Connect the vacuum switching valve connector (for ACIS).
  6. CONNECT FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Connect the fuel tube to the No. 2 fuel delivery pipe (Refer to PRECAUTION [08/2015 - ] ).
    2. Connect the fuel tube to the fuel delivery pipe (Refer to PRECAUTION [08/2015 - ] ).
  7. CONNECT NO. 2 FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Connect the No. 2 fuel tube to the fuel pressure regulator (Refer to PRECAUTION [08/2015 - ] ).
  8. INSTALL NO. 3 WATER BY-PASS HOSE 
    1. Install the hose.

      *1 Paint Mark
      *2 Protrusion

      HINT: 

      Align the paint mark on the hose with the protrusion of the front water by-pass joint, and then align the claw of the clip with the paint mark.

  9. INSTALL NO. 3 WATER BY-PASS PIPE 
    1. Connect the hose.
    2. Install the water by-pass hose with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf)

      HINT: 

      The direction of the hose clamp is indicated in the illustration.

  10. INSTALL AIR SWITCHING VALVE ASSEMBLY (for Bank 2) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  11. CONNECT NO. 1 AIR INJECTION SYSTEM HOSE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  12. CONNECT NO. 3 VENTILATION HOSE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  13. CONNECT NO. 4 WATER BY-PASS PIPE 
    1. Connect the No. 4 water by-pass hose with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf) 

    2. Attach the wire harness clamp.
  14. CONNECT HEATER WATER HOSE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 21 [08/2015 - 08/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 21 [08/2020 - ]

  15. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 78 [08/2015 - 08/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 78 [08/2020 - ]

  16. INSTALL EGR VALVE BRACKET 
    1. Install the EGR valve bracket (Refer to INSTALLATION [08/2015 - ] ).
  17. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2015 - 08/2019] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2019 - 08/2021] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2021 - 08/2022] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2022 - ] ).

  18. INSPECT FOR FUEL LEAK 
    1. Make sure that there are no fuel leaks after performing maintenance on the fuel system.
      1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
      2. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and turn the Techstream on.
        NOTE:

        Do not start the engine.

      3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Active Test / Control the Fuel Pump / Speed.
      4. Check that there are no leaks from the fuel system.

        If there are fuel leaks, repair or replace parts as necessary.

      5. Turn the engine switch off.
      6. Disconnect the Techstream from the DLC3.
