Removal [09/2014 - 11/2017]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

    Refer to INITIALIZATION [09/2014 - 10/2015] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [10/2015 - 11/2017]

  3. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  4. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  5. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4 [09/2014 - 10/2015] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4 [10/2015 - 11/2017]

  6. REMOVE INLET NO. 1 AIR CLEANER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 20 [09/2014 - 10/2015] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 20 [10/2015 - 11/2017]

  7. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER 
    1. Remove the 3 clips and No. 1 engine cover from the timing chain cover sub-assembly.

  8. REMOVE INJECTOR DRIVER 
    1. Push the lock and move the lock lever of each connector (with lock) as shown in the illustration and disconnect the 3 connectors (with lock) from the injector driver.

      *c Connector (with Lock)
    2. Disconnect the injector driver connector.
    3. Remove the bolt, 2 nuts and injector driver from the timing chain cover sub-assembly.
