Disassembly [09/2015 - 12/2017]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE GENERATOR PULLEY CAP 
    1. Using a screwdriver, remove the generator pulley cap from the generator pulley with clutch.

      NOTE:

      Do not reuse the generator pulley cap.

  2. REMOVE GENERATOR PULLEY WITH CLUTCH 
    1. Secure the generator assembly in a vise between aluminum plates.
    2. Fit SST to the generator pulley with clutch.
      • SST: 09820-30010

    3. Fit a T50 "TORX" socket wrench into the rotor shaft end.

    4. Loosen the generator pulley with clutch by turning the T50 "TORX" socket wrench as shown in the illustration.

      *c Hold
      NOTE:
      • Check that the generator assembly is secured in the vise tightly.
      • Hold SST tightly during the operation.
    5. Remove SST and the T50 "TORX" socket wrench from the generator pulley with clutch.
    6. Remove the generator pulley with clutch from the rotor shaft.
    7. Remove the generator assembly from the vise.
  3. REMOVE GENERATOR REAR END COVER 
    1. Place the generator assembly on the generator pulley with clutch.

    2. Remove the 2 nuts and generator rear end cover from the generator coil assembly.

  4. REMOVE GENERATOR REGULATOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts, stud bolt and generator regulator assembly from the generator coil assembly.

  5. REMOVE GENERATOR ROTOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 4 bolts and generator coil assembly.

    2. Remove the generator rotor assembly from the generator drive end frame.

  6. INSPECT GENERATOR DRIVE END FRAME BEARING 

    See step  4

  7. REMOVE GENERATOR DRIVE END FRAME BEARING 
    1. Using a T20 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the 4 screws and retainer plate from the generator drive end frame.

    2. Using SST and a hammer, tap out the generator drive end frame bearing.
