Inspection [10/2014 - ]: Procedure
- INSPECT THROTTLE BODY WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY
*a Component without harness connected
(Throttle Body with Motor Assembly)- Check that the throttle valve opens and closes smoothly.
- Check that the there is no sludge accumulating around the throttle body with motor assembly.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 1 (M-) - 2 (M+) 20°C (68°F) 0.3 to 100 Ω If the result is not as specified, replace the throttle body with motor assembly.
- INSPECT MANIFOLD THERMOSTAT
- Remove the manifold thermostat.
- Remove the intake manifold.
Refer to REMOVAL [10/2014 - 09/2015] , or refer to REMOVAL [09/2015 - ]
- Slide the 2 hose clamps and remove the 2 water hoses.
- Remove the 2 nuts and manifold thermostat.
- Remove the intake manifold.
- Check the valve lift.
HINT:
The valve closing temperature is inscribed on the manifold thermostat.
- Insert a 5 mm hexagon wrench and place paint marks at the same location as the edge of the inlet nozzle as shown in the illustration.
*a Paint Mark - Immerse the manifold thermostat in water and gradually heat.
HINT:
Heat until the manifold thermostat is at or above the temperature at which the valve fully closes.
- Insert a 5 mm hexagon wrench again and inspect the lift amount as shown in the illustration.
*a Paint Mark *b Valve Lift Standard valve lift
2.5 to 4.5 mm (0.0984 to 0.177 in.)
If the valve lift is not as specified, replace the manifold thermostat.
- Insert a 5 mm hexagon wrench and place paint marks at the same location as the edge of the inlet nozzle as shown in the illustration.
- Install the manifold thermostat.
- Install the manifold thermostat with the 2 nuts.
Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf/cm, 7 ft.lbf)
- Install the 2 water hoses, and then slide the 2 hose clamps to secure the hoses.
- Install the intake manifold.
Refer to INSTALLATION [10/2014 - 09/2015] , or refer to INSTALLATION [09/2015 - ]
- Install the manifold thermostat with the 2 nuts.
- Remove the manifold thermostat.
