Installation [09/2014 - ]: Procedure

  1. CLEAN QUARTER WINDOW ASSEMBLY 
    1. Clean the outer circumference of the quarter window assembly with a non-residue solvent.

      NOTE:
      • Do not touch the quarter window assembly surface after cleaning it.
      • Be careful not to damage the quarter window assembly and clips.
  2. INSTALL QUARTER WINDOW ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using a brush, coat the installation surface on the vehicle body with primer M.
      NOTE:
      • Do not coat the adhesive with primer M.
      • Do not apply too much primer M.
      • Allow the primer M to dry for 3 minutes or more.
      • Throw away any leftover primer M.

      HINT: 

      If an area other than specified is coated by accident, wipe off the primer M with a clean piece of cloth before it dries.

    2. Using a brush or sponge, coat the adhesive application area of a new quarter window assembly with primer G.

      a 11.0 mm (0.433 in.)

      c 19.0 mm (0.748 in.)
      NOTE:
      • Do not apply too much primer G.
      • Allow the primer G to dry for 3 minutes or more.
      • Throw away any leftover primer G.

      HINT: 

      • Apply primer G onto the ceramic notches.
      • If an area other than specified is coated by accident, wipe off the primer G with a clean piece of cloth before it dries.
    3. Apply adhesive to the quarter window assembly.

      Adhesive

      Toyota Genuine Windshield Glass Adhesive or equivalent

      1. Cut off the tip of the cartridge nozzle as shown in the illustration.

      2. Load the sealer gun with the cartridge.
      3. Apply adhesive to the quarter window assembly as shown in the illustration.

        a 4.0 mm (0.157 in.)

        HINT: 

        Apply adhesive onto the ceramic notches.

    4. Install the quarter window assembly.
      1. Using suction cups, engage the 3 clips to install the quarter window assembly.
        NOTE:
        • Check that the clips are engaged to the vehicle body correctly.
        • Check the clearance between the vehicle body and quarter window assembly.

      2. Lightly press the outer surface of the quarter window assembly to ensure that the quarter window assembly is securely fit to the vehicle body.

        HINT: 

        Press the glass with a force of 98 N (10 kgf, 22.0 lbf) or more.

      3. Using a scraper, remove any excess or protruding adhesive.
      4. Hold the quarter window assembly using protective tape until the applied adhesive becomes hard.
        NOTE:

        Do not drive the vehicle for the time described in the table below.

        Minimum Time

        Temperature Minimum Time Prior to Driving Vehicle
        35°C (95°F) 1 hour and 30 minutes
        20°C (68°F) 5 hours
        5°C (41°F) 24 hours
  3. INSPECT FOR LEAK AND REPAIR 
    1. After the adhesive has hardened, apply water from the outside of the vehicle. Check that no water leaks into the cabin.
    2. If water leaks into the cabin, allow the water to dry and add adhesive.
    3. Remove the protective tape.
  4. INSTALL ROOF SIDE RAIL WEATHERSTRIP LH

  5. INSTALL ROOF SIDE RAIL GARNISH ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 18 [09/2014 - 11/2017] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 17 [11/2017 - ]

  6. INSTALL INNER ROOF SIDE GARNISH ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 19 [09/2014 - 11/2017] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 18 [11/2017 - ]

  7. INSTALL CENTER PILLAR GARNISH ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 20 [09/2014 - 11/2017] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 19 [11/2017 - ]

  8. INSTALL FRONT QUARTER TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 21 [09/2014 - 11/2017] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 20 [11/2017 - ]

  9. INSTALL REAR SIDE SEATBACK ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  10. CONNECT REAR SEAT 3 POINT TYPE OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10

  11. CONNECT FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  12. INSTALL LAP BELT OUTER ANCHOR COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9

  13. INSTALL REAR SEAT CUSHION LOCK HOOK 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6

  14. INSTALL REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  15. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH
