Engine Compression: 2.0L

  1. Run engine until operating temperature is reached. Remove glow plugs and disconnect fuel cutoff solenoid at injection pump.
    2. CAUTION: Disconnect the glow plug harness (Blue/Red Stripe) from engine wiring harness to prevent shorting terminal leads when ignition is turned on.
  2. Install glow plug adapter (5634) or equivalent, into No. 1 cylinder. Connect compression tester (19-0001) to the adapter. DO NOT add oil to cylinders. Crank engine at least 6 revolutions and take reading.
  3. Repeat test for each cylinder. If pressures are not within limits, repair components as required.
