Retrieving Codes

NOTE: A New Generation Star (NGS) Tester (007-00500) is required for testing the lighting control system.

Before beginning any testing, retrieve any existing Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) from Lighting Control Module (LCM) and Driver Door Module (DDM). Refer to the ON-DEMAND SELF-TEST in the MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK article in the ACCESSORIES/SAFETY EQUIPMENT section. Make any repairs that may be indicated. See appropriate code related PINPOINT TESTS. If symptoms remain, or if no DTCs exist, go to PINPOINT TEST A. If any DTC begins with letter "U", see MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK article in the ACCESSORIES/SAFETY EQUIPMENT section.

NOTE: Lighting control module DTC B1334 TRUNK LID AJAR, may be an invalid code set during self-testing when trunk release activates.
