Pinpoint Test E - Lumbar Support FUNC Does Not Work Properly

  1. Disconnect connector at front seat pump. Using ohmmeter, measure resistance of Black wire between harness connector and ground. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open Black wire.
  2. Hold control switch in INFLATE position. Using voltmeter, measure voltage of Red wire at harness connector. If reading is not at least 10.5 volts, go to next step. If reading is at least 10.5 volts, temporarily substitute known-good pump, then retest system.
  3. Remove control switch, leaving wiring connected. Backprobe Red wire at connector with test light while holding control switch in INFLATE position. If test light does not come on, go to next step. If test light comes on, repair Red wire between switch and pump.
  4. Disconnect connector from control switch. Connect test light to Black/White wire at connector. If test light does not come on, go to next step. If test light comes on, replace control switch.
  5. Remove circuit breaker No. 12. Using ohmmeter, measure resistance of Black/White wire between fuse panel and control switch. If resistance is not more than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open Black/White wire.
  6. Connect test light to battery side of circuit breaker cavity. If test light does not come on, repair wire between fuse panel and battery. If test light comes on, reinstall circuit breaker and go to next step.
  7. Reconnect connector to control switch. Disconnect hose from pump. While holding control switch in INFLATE position, feel for air emerging from pump. If air emerges, go to next step. If no air emerges, replace pump.
  8. Reconnect hose to pump. Disconnect hose from switch. While holding control switch in INFLATE position, feel for air emerging from hose. If air emerges, go to next step. If no air emerges, repair or replace hose from pump.
  9. Reconnect hose to switch. Connect in-line pressure gauge to hose. Hold control switch in INFLATE position until pressure is 5 psi (0.35 kg/cm2 ). Wait 3 hours, then observe pressure. If pressure does not hold, go to next step. If pressure holds, system is okay.
  10. Disconnect hose from adjuster pad. Using hand pump, inflate pad to 5 psi (0.35 kg/cm2 ). Wait 3 hours, then observe pressure. If pressure does not hold, replace pad. If pressure holds, replace control switch.
