Pinpoint Test E - Lumbar Support FUNC Does Not Work Properly
- Check Ground Circuit At Pump - Unplug connector at front seat pump. Using ohmmeter, measure resistance of Black wire between harness connector and ground. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair Black wire. Retest system.
- Check Voltage Supply To Lumbar Support Pump - Using voltmeter, measure voltage of Red wire at harness connector while holding control switch in INFLATE position. If reading is not at least 10.5 volts, go to next step. If reading is at least 10.5 volts, go to step 7).
- Check Circuit No. 490 (Red Wire) At Switch - Remove control switch, leaving wiring connected. Backprobe Red wire at connector with test light while holding control switch in INFLATE position. If test light does not come on, go to next step. If test light comes on, repair Red wire between switch and pump. Retest system.
- Check Power Supply To Seat Control Switch - Unplug connector from control switch. Connect test light to Black/White wire at connector. If test light does not come on, go to next step. If test light comes on, replace control switch. Retest system.
- Check Continuity Of Circuit No. 517 (Black/White Wire) - Remove power supply circuit breaker. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Using ohmmeter, measure resistance of Black/White wire between fuse panel and control switch. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open Black/White wire. Retest system.
- Check Voltage Supply From Fuse Panel - Connect test light to battery side of circuit breaker cavity. If test light does not come on, repair wire between fuse panel and battery. If test light comes on, replace circuit breaker or repair Black/White wire between fuse panel and control switch. Retest system.
- Check Lumbar Support Pump Airflow - Reconnect seat pump connector. Disconnect hose from pump. While holding control switch in INFLATE position, feel for air emerging from pump. If air emerges, go to next step. If no air emerges, replace pump. Retest system.
- Check Control Switch Airflow - Reconnect hose to pump. Disconnect hose from switch. While holding control switch in INFLATE position, feel for air emerging from hose. If air emerges, go to next step. If no air emerges, repair or replace hose from pump. Retest system.
- Check System For Leaks - Reconnect hose to switch. Connect in-line pressure gauge to hose. Hold control switch in INFLATE position until pressure is 5 psi (0.35 kg/cm2 ). Wait 3 hours. Observe pressure. If pressure does not hold, go to next step. If pressure holds, system is okay.
- Check Lumbar Pad For Leaks - Disconnect hose from adjuster pad. Using hand pump, inflate pad to 5 psi (0.35 kg/cm2 ). Wait 3 hours. Observe pressure. If pressure does not hold, replace pad. If pressure holds, replace control switch.
