System Operation

Autolamp system is activated by turning dash mounted headlight switch counterclockwise to AUTOLAMP position. A small AUTOLAMP indicator light on the switch will light when lights are energized. When AUTOLAMP feature is selected, lights will turn on and off automatically based on the amount of ambient light monitored by the Light Sensor Amplifier. Time delay (delayed turn-off function) is selected by the position of the lighting switch when it is turned counterclockwise from the OFF position. Maximum time delay of 3-minutes is obtained when the switch is rotated fully counterclockwise. Autolamp system provides exterior security lighting. Ambient light must be below selected level for this function. System is activated by pressing any keyless entry keypad button, lifting any outside door handle or pressing the UNLOCK button on the remote transmitter. When system is activated the following occurs:

After a momentary delay, parking, tail and headlights are turned on.
Lights stay on for about 25 seconds.
When UNLOCK button is pressed, parking and tail lights will momentarily flash and horn will chirp.
