Test A: No Communication With Driver's Door Module
- Disconnect Driver's Door Module (DDM) harness connector C457. DDM is located inside driver's door. Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 3 (Dark Green/Purple) wire at DDM harness connector C457. If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step. If battery voltage exists, go to step 16).
- Disconnect DDM harness connector C455. Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 2 (Dark Green/Purple wire) at DDM harness connector C455. See Figure . If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step. If battery voltage exists, repair open in Dark Green/Purple wire between DDM harness connector C457 and instrument panel fuse box.
- Remove and inspect fuse No. 41 (10-amp) from instrument panel fuse box. If fuse is blown, go to next step. If fuse is okay, repair open in Dark Green/Purple wire.
- Disconnect DDM harness connector C456. Remove fuse No. 41 (10-amp) from instrument panel fuse box. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 3 (Dark Green/Purple wire) at DDM harness connector C457. If resistance is 10,000 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 10,000 ohms, go to step 10).
- Disconnect driver's door lock switch harness connector. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 3 (Dark Green/Purple wire) at DDM harness connector C457. If resistance is 10,000 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 10,000 ohms, replace driver's door lock switch.
- Disconnect passenger's door lock switch harness connector. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 3 (Dark Green/Purple wire) at DDM harness connector C457. If resistance is 10,000 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 10,000 ohms, replace passenger's door lock switch.
- Disconnect keyless entry keypad harness connector. See KEYPAD R & I under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 3 (Dark Green/Purple wire) at DDM harness connector C457. If resistance is 10,000 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 10,000 ohms, replace keyless entry keypad.
- Disconnect driver's memory seat switch harness connector. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 3 (Dark Green/Purple wire) at DDM harness connector C457. If resistance is 10,000 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 10,000 ohms, replace driver's seat memory switch.
- Disconnect power mirror switch harness connector. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 3 (Dark Green/Purple wire) at DDM harness connector C457. If resistance is 10,000 ohms or less, repair short to ground in Dark Green/Purple wire. If resistance is greater than 10,000 ohms, replace power mirror switch.
- Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 1 (Pink/Black wire) at DDM harness connector C456. See Figure . If resistance is 10,000 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 10,000 ohms, go to step 13).
- Disconnect driver's power door lock actuator harness connector. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 1 (Pink/Black wire) at DDM harness connector C456. If resistance is 10,000 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 10,000 ohms, replace driver's power door lock actuator.
- Disconnect passenger's power door lock actuator harness connector. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 1 (Pink/Black wire) at DDM harness connector C456. If resistance is 10,000 ohms or less, repair short to ground in Pink/Black wire. If resistance is greater than 10,000 ohms, replace passenger's power door lock actuator.
- Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 6 (Pink/Yellow wire) at DDM harness connector C456. Also, measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 17 (Pink/Light Green wire) at DDM harness connector C456. If resistance is greater than 10,000 ohms at both terminals, go to next step. If resistance is 10,000 ohms or less at one or both terminals, repair short to ground in Pink/Yellow or Pink/Light Green wire.
- Measure resistance between ground and terminals at DDM harness connector C455 as follows:
- Terminal No. 14 (Light Blue/Yellow wire).
- Terminal No. 6 (Light Green/Red wire).
- Terminal No. 13 (Yellow/Black wire).
- Terminal No. 5 (Yellow wire).
- Terminal No. 12 (Red wire).
If each resistance measurement is greater than 10,000 ohms, go to next step. If any resistance measurement is 10,000 ohms or less, repair short to ground in suspect circuit(s).
15) Measure resistance between ground and terminals at DDM harness connector C456 as follows:
- Terminal No. 18 (Brown/Orange wire).
- Terminal No. 19 (Brown/Light Green wire).
- Terminal No. 7 (Black/Orange wire).
- Terminal No. 20 (Purple/Orange wire).
- Terminal No. 21 (Dark Blue/Orange wire).
- Terminal No. 9 (Red/Orange wire).
- Terminal No. 8 (Dark Green/Orange wire).
- Terminal No. 10 (Yellow/Black wire).
If each resistance measurement is greater than 10,000 ohms, replace fuse No. 41 (10-amp) and DDM. If any resistance measurement is 10,000 ohms or less, repair short to ground in suspect circuit(s).
16) Disconnect DDM harness connector C455. Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 2 (Dark Green/Purple wire) at DDM harness connector C455. See Figure . If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, repair open in Dark Green/Purple wire.
17) Disconnect DDM harness connector C456. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 16 (Black wire) at DDM harness connector C456. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Black wire.
18) Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 8 (Black/Light Blue wire) at DDM harness connector C455. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, diagnose communications network. See MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK article. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Black/Light Blue wire.
