Test H: Easy Exit/Entry Feature Inoperative
NOTE:
After any repairs are complete, ensure all component are properly installed and all harness connectors are connected properly and repeat data link diagnostic test.
- Check Driver Seat Operation - Ensure transmission is in Park. Using seat control switch, operate seat in all directions. If seat operates properly in all directions, go to next step. If seat does not operate properly, repair seat by symptom. See SYMPTOM CHART under DIAGNOSTIC TESTING.
- Check Easy Exit/Entry Operation - Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Position seat in center of travel. Remove key from ignition. If seat does not move rearward approximately 2 inches, go to next step. If seat moves rearward approximately 2 inches, go to step 5).
- Check Light Control Module (LCM) Inputs - Connect scan tool to data link connector. Access LCM on scan tool. Select LCM PIP IGN_KEY and IGN_LC. Starting with key in LOCK position, turn key one position at a time while monitoring scan tool display. Remove key while observing LCM PIP IGN_KEY. If scan tool display corresponds to switch position, go to next step. If scan tool display does not correspond to switch position, repair ignition switch concern. See STEERING COLUMN SWITCHES article.
- Check For Driver Seat Module (DSM) DTCs - Execute DSM self-test. If no DTCs are retrieved, replace driver seat module. If DTC B1665, B1962 or B1965 are retrieved, perform TEST E . If any other DTCs are retrieved, perform appropriate test. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE INDEX (DSM) table under SYSTEM TESTING.
- Check Easy Entry Operation - Remove key and exit vehicle. Ensure all doors are closed completely. After 10 seconds, enter vehicle and close door. Insert key into ignition. If driver seat does not move forward approximately 2 inches, go to next step. If driver seat move forward approximately 2 inches, system is okay at this time.
- Check For Lighting Control Module (LCM) DTCs - Retrieve and record LCM related DTCs. Clear LCM DTCs. Perform LCM self-test. If any LCM related DTC exist, diagnosis DTCs as necessary. See MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK article. If no LCM related DTCs exist, go to next step.
- Check DSM DTC - Retrieve DSM DTCs. If DSM DTCs exist, perform appropriate test. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE INDEX (DSM) table under SYSTEM TESTING. If DSM DTCs do not exist, replace driver seat module.
