Test S: Panel/Floor Control Does Not Operate Using Front/Rear Auxiliary Controls

- Check Front Auxiliary Mode Control Operation
Turn ignition to run (engine off). Place front auxiliary blower switch in HI position. Rotate front auxiliary mode control from PANEL to FLOOR. If airflow control operates correctly, go to next step. If airflow control does not operate correctly, go to step 8) . - Test System For Normal Operation
Place front auxiliary blower switch in REAR position. Place rear auxiliary blower switch in HI position. Rotate front auxiliary mode control from PANEL to FLOOR. If rear airflow control operates correctly, system is okay at this time. If rear airflow control does not operate correctly, go to next step. - Check Pink/Light Green Wire Circuit
Turn ignition off. Disconnect rear auxiliary mode potentiometer connector. Disconnect auxiliary climate control module connector. Measure resistance of Pink/Light Green wire between auxiliary mode potentiometer connector and auxiliary climate control module connector. Measure resistance of Pink/Light Green wire between auxiliary climate control module connector and ground. If resistance is less than 5 ohms between connectors and more than 10,000 ohms between connector and ground, go to next step. If resistances are not as specified, repair Pink/Light Green wire. Retest system. - Check Gray/Light Blue Wire Circuit
Disconnect auxiliary mode actuator connector. Measure resistance of Gray/Light Blue wire between rear auxiliary mode potentiometer and auxiliary mode actuator connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair Gray/Light Blue wire. Retest system. - Check Brown/White Wire Circuit
Measure resistance of Brown/White wire between rear auxiliary mode potentiometer connector and rear auxiliary actuator connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair Brown/White wire. Retest system. - Check Rear Auxiliary Mode Potentiometer
Measure resistance between Gray/Light Blue and Pink/Light Green terminals of rear mode potentiometer connector. If resistance is between 4000-6000 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not 4000-6000 ohms, replace rear auxiliary mode potentiometer. Retest system. - Check Rear Auxiliary Mode Potentiometer Wiper
Measure resistance between Gray/Light Blue and Brown/White terminals of rear mode potentiometer connector while rotating potentiometer. If resistance varies, replace auxiliary climate control module. Retest system. If resistance does not vary, replace rear auxiliary mode potentiometer. - Check Rear Auxiliary Mode Control Operation
Place front auxiliary blower motor switch in REAR position. Place rear auxiliary blower switch in HI position. Rotate rear mode control from PANEL to FLOOR. If control operates correctly, go to next step. If control does not operate correctly, go to step 14) . - Check Yellow/White Wire Circuit
Turn ignition off. Disconnect front auxiliary mode potentiometer connector. Disconnect auxiliary climate control module connector. Measure resistance of Yellow/White wire between front potentiometer connector and climate control module connector. Measure resistance of Yellow/White wire between climate control module connector and ground. If resistance is less than 5 ohms between connectors and more than 10,000 ohms between connector and ground, go to next step. If resistances are not as specified, repair Yellow/White wire. Retest system. - Check Front Auxiliary Potentiometer
Disconnect auxiliary mode actuator connector. Measure resistance of Gray/Light Blue wire between front auxiliary mode potentiometer and auxiliary mode actuator connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair Gray/Light Blue wire. Retest system. - Check Front Auxiliary Potentiometer Brown/White Wire Circuit
Measure resistance of Brown/White wire between front auxiliary mode potentiometer connector and auxiliary actuator connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to step 18) . If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair Brown/White wire. Retest system. - Check Front Auxiliary Mode Potentiometer
Measure resistance between Brown/White wire and Yellow/White wire terminals of front mode potentiometer connector. If resistance is between 4000-6000 ohms, go to step 18) . If resistance is not 4000-6000 ohms, replace front auxiliary mode potentiometer. Retest system. - Check Front Auxiliary Mode Potentiometer Wiper
Measure resistance between front auxiliary mode potentiometer connector Gray/Light Blue wire and Yellow/White wire while rotating front auxiliary mode potentiometer. If resistance varies, replace auxiliary A/C control module. Retest system. If resistance does not vary, replace front auxiliary mode potentiometer. Retest system. - Check White/Light Blue Wire Circuit
Turn ignition off. Disconnect auxiliary mode actuator connector. Turn ignition to run (engine off). Measure voltage of White/Light Blue wire between mode actuator connector and ground. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair White/Light Blue wire. Retest system. - Check Black Wire For Open
Measure resistance of Black wire between auxiliary mode actuator and ground. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair Black wire. Retest system. - Check Light Green Wire Circuit
Measure resistance of Light Green wire between auxiliary climate control module connector and auxiliary mode actuator connector. Measure resistance of Light Green wire between auxiliary mode actuator connector and ground. If resistance is less than 5 ohms between connectors and more than 10,000 ohms between connector and ground, go to next step. If resistances are not as specified, repair Light Green wire. Retest system. - Check Gray/Light Blue Wire Circuit
Disconnect front auxiliary mode potentiometer connector. Disconnect rear auxiliary mode potentiometer connector. Measure resistance of Gray/Light Blue wire between auxiliary mode actuator connector and rear auxiliary mode potentiometer connector. Measure resistance of Gray/Light Blue wire between auxiliary mode actuator connector and ground. If resistance is less than 5 ohms between connectors and more than 10,000 ohms between connector and ground, go to next step. If resistances are not as specified, repair Gray/Light Blue wire. Retest system. - Check Brown/White Wire Circuit
Measure resistance of Brown/White wire between auxiliary mode actuator connector and rear auxiliary mode potentiometer connector. Measure resistance of Brown/White wire between auxiliary mode actuator connector and ground. If resistance is less than 5 ohms between connectors and more than 10,000 ohms between connector and ground, go to next step. If resistances are not as specified, repair Brown/White wire. Retest system. - Check Pink/Light Green Wire Circuit For Short
Measure resistance of Pink/Light Green wire between auxiliary climate control module connector and ground. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair Pink/Light Green wire. Retest system. - Check Yellow/White Wire Circuit For Short
Measure resistance of Yellow/White wire between auxiliary climate control module connector and ground. If resistance is more than 10,000 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is less than 10,000 ohms, repair Yellow/White wire. Retest system. - Check Auxiliary Mode Actuator
Reconnect auxiliary mode actuator connector. Turn ignition to run (engine off). Place front auxiliary blower switch in HI position. Connect jumper wire between climate control connector White/Light Blue and Light Green wire terminals. If mode actuator directs airflow to panel, replace auxiliary climate control module. Retest system. If airflow is not directed to panel, go to next step. - Check Auxiliary Mode Actuator
Connect jumper wire between climate control connector Black and Light Green wire terminals. If mode actuator directs airflow to floor, replace auxiliary climate control module. Retest system. If airflow is not directed to panel, replace auxiliary mode actuator. Retest system.
