Intake Manifold-Upper: Installation

- Install the upper intake manifold gasket.
- Position the upper intake manifold and loosely install the new bolts.
- Tighten the bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb-in) and then an additional 90 degrees in the sequence shown.
- Install the EGR adapter using a new gasket.
- Position the vacuum harness and connect the vapor management valve vacuum connector.
- Connect the vacuum line to the EGR valve.
- Connect the vacuum line.
- Connect the brake booster vacuum line.
- Position the oil fill tube and install the stud.
- Position the power steering reservoir bracket and install the bolts.
- Install the nut.
- Connect the two hoses and the electrical connector to the differential pressure feedback EGR.
- Connect the vacuum lines and the electrical connector to the EVR.
- Connect the IAC valve.
- Connect the TP sensor.
- Install the balance tube gaskets.
- Install the balance tube and the bolts and stud.
- Connect the electrical connector to the intake manifold tuning valve.
- Connect the PCV fitting heater coolant hoses.
- Install the tube assembly and connect the PCV valve tube.
- Connect the EVAP return line.
- Position the cables and bracket and install the bolts.
- Connect the accelerator cable, speed control cable, and the return spring.
- Install the engine appearance cover and the three bolts.
- Install the air cleaner assembly and connect the mass air flow (MAF) sensor electrical connector.
- Install the engine air cleaner and outlet tube. For additional information, refer to REMOVAL, OVERHAUL & INSTALLATION - BLACKWOOD, EXPEDITION, F150 PICKUP & NAVIGATOR - GASOLINE .
- Install the wiring harness shield, the bolts and five clips.
- Install the cowl grille. For additional information, refer to FRONT END BODY PANELS .
- Connect the battery ground cable.
- Refill the engine cooling system. For additional information, refer to ENGINE COOLING .
NOTE:
If this procedure is being performed in conjunction with the engine installation procedure, do not fill the engine cooling system at this time.
