Test J: Traction Control Inoperative (2000 Models)
- Connect NGS tester or scan tool and retrieve DTCs. If any DTCs are retrieved, see DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS . If no DTCs are retrieved, go to next step.
- Test drive vehicle and check ABS operation. If ABS operates properly, go to next step. If ABS does not operate properly, see symptom chart. See Figure.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect ABCM connector. Connect breakout box. Measure voltage between breakout box pin No. 5 and ground. If voltage is present, go to next step. If voltage is not present, install new HCU. Restore vehicle, clear DTCs and retest system.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect traction control switch connector. Measure voltage between breakout box pin No. 5 and ground. If voltage is present, repair Gray wire circuit. Restore vehicle, clear DTCs and retest system. If voltage is not present, install new traction control switch. Restore vehicle, clear DTCs and retest system.
