Test J: Traction Control Inoperative (2001 Models)

  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect traction control connector. Measure resistance between a good ground and traction control switch connector Black wire. If resistance is more than 10 k/ohms, go to next step. If resistance is less than 10 k/ohms, install new traction control switch. Restore vehicle, clear DTCs and retest system.
  2. Measure resistance between traction control switch terminals, while depressing traction control switch. If resistance less than 5 ohms, install new electronic control unit (ECU). Restore vehicle, clear DTCs and retest system. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, install new traction control switch. Restore vehicle, clear DTCs and retest system.
  3. Turn ignition off. Disconnect ABCM connector. Connect breakout box. Measure resistance between breakout box pin No. 17 and traction control switch connector Green/White wire. If resistance less than 5 ohms, install new electronic control unit (ECU). Restore vehicle, clear DTCs and retest system. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair traction control switch connector Green/White wire. Restore vehicle, clear DTCs and retest system.
