Traction Assist (Ta)

Is operational when ignition switch is in RUN position. It can be disabled by driver by depressing Traction Control OFF switch. TA applies and releases appropriate rear brake to reduce wheel spin. It interacts with PCM to reduce engine torque if one or both rear wheels lose traction. If TA is continuously operational due to slippery roads, ABCM may disable TA system to prevent overheating of rear brakes.
