With Memory

Connect New Generation Star (NGS) tester to Data Link Connector (DLC). DLC is located below left side of instrument panel, to right of steering column. Using NGS tester, perform data link diagnostics test. See DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM in MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK - LS article. If NGS tester responds with CKT194 or CKT915=ALL MODULE NO RESP/NOTEQUIP, repair module communications concern. See MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK - LS article. If NGS responds with NO RESPONSE/NOT EQUIPPED for Driver's Seat Module (DSM), perform TEST A: NO COMMUNICATION WITH DRIVER'S SEAT MODULE  . If NGS responds with NO RESPONSE/NOT EQUIPPED for Driver's Door Module (DDM), perform TEST B: NO COMMUNICATION WITH DRIVER'S DOOR MODULE  .

If NGS tester responds with SYSTEM PASSED, retrieve and record continuous DTCs. Erase continuous DTCs. Using NGS tester, perform DDM and DSM self-test. Perform appropriate test in accordance with DTC retrieved. See DRIVER'S SEAT MODULE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE INDEX  and/or DRIVER'S DOOR MODULE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE INDEX  table.
