Test B: No Communication With Driver's Seat Module

  1. Remove and inspect central junction box fuse No. 30 (7.5-amp). If fuse is okay, go to next step. If fuse is blown, perform TEST A: NO COMMUNICATION WITH DRIVER'S DOOR MODULE  .
  2. Measure voltage at input cavity of central junction box fuse No. 30. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, perform TEST A: NO COMMUNICATION WITH DRIVER'S DOOR MODULE  .
  3. Install fuse No. 30. Disconnect Driver's Seat Module (DSM) 26-pin harness connector C313. DSM is located under driver's seat. Measure voltage between ground and DSM 26-pin harness connector C313 terminal No. 14 (Light Green/Violet wire). If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, repair open in Light Green/Violet wire between DSM and central junction box.
  4. Measure resistance between ground and DSM 26-pin harness connector C313 terminal No. 1 (Pink/Orange wire). If resistance is 5 ohms or less, diagnosis network concern. See MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK - TOWN CAR article. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Pink/Orange wire between ground and DSM. Ground point is located behind driver's kick panel, near door frame.
