Test F: Warning Indicator Flickers Or Is Intermittent
- Inspect all generator and battery connections. Clean and tighten loose connections. If connections are okay, go to next step.
- Start engine. With engine running, inspect battery junction box fuse No. 2 (20-amp) and central junction box fuse No. 5 (10-amp) by wiggling fuses and noting warning indicator. See Fig 1. If warning indicator flickers, repair loose fuse connection(s). Retest system operation. If warning indicator does not flicker, go to next step.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Connect a fused (15-amp) jumper wire to positive battery terminal, and backprobe generator connector terminal "A". See Figure. Start engine. With engine running, observe warning indicator. If warning indicator flickers, replace generator. See GENERATOR under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If warning indicator does not flicker, repair loose connection(s) in circuits. Retest system operation.
