Instrument Panel: Installation

CAUTION:
Electronic modules are sensitive to static electrical charges. Avoid exposing any modules to static electrical charges, as this may cause damage to the modules.
- Install the instrument panel into the vehicle.
- Install the instrument panel cowl top bracket screw.
- Install the 3 instrument panel cowl top screws.
- Install the lower LH instrument panel cowl side bolt.
- Install the upper LH instrument panel cowl side nut.
- Install the RH instrument panel cowl side nut.
- Install the instrument panel defroster opening grille.
- Connect the electrical connector
- Install the 4 nuts and the instrument panel tunnel brace.
- Position the tunnel brace trim cover and install the 2 pin-type retainers.
- Connect the transmission shift cable to the steering column.
- Connect the cable to the steering column bracket.
- Connect the cable to the steering column shift tube lever.
- Connect the intermediate shaft to the steering column shaft and install a new pinch bolt.
- Install the steering column brace.
- Position the steering column brace.
- Install the nut.
- Connect the vacuum connector.
- Connect the parking brake release vacuum connector.
- Connect the LH instrument panel wiring harness connectors.
- Install the LH ground bolt.
- Clip the LH bulkhead connector into the dash panel.
- Position the steering column lower reinforcement. Install the 5 bolts.
- Install the steering column opening lower finish panel.
- Align the steering column opening lower finish panel and push in to seat the retaining clips.
- Position the parking brake release assembly.
- Install the screws.
- Connect the RH instrument panel wiring harness electrical connectors.
- Install the RH ground bolts.
- Install the LH and RH A-pillar trim panels.
- Install the LH and RH A-pillar lower trim panels.
- Install the LH and RH door weatherstrip seals.
- Install the RH instrument panel lower insulator.
- Open the glove compartment door.
- Install the instrument panel support brace bolt through the glove compartment opening.
- While pushing in on the 2 glove compartment door tabs, position the glove compartment upward.
- Connect the glove compartment isolator. Close the glove compartment.
- From under the hood, connect the LH bulkhead connector.
- Tighten the bolt.
- Repower the supplemental restraint system (SRS). For additional information, Refer to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM .
NOTE:
Installation of the instrument panel into the vehicle requires an assistant.

Make the sure the instrument panel center locator pin is engaged into the cowl top.
