Brake Caliper Bleeding

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Lincoln Aviator. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: It is not necessary to bleed the entire brake system. It is possible to bleed only the opened part of the system.
  1. Connect one end of a clear flexible hose to the caliper screw. Submerge the other end in a container partially filled with the specified brake fluid.
  2. Have an assistant pump and then hold firm pressure on the brake pedal.
  3. Open the caliper bleeder screw until brake fluid flows into the container.
  4. When fluid stops flowing, close the bleeder screw.
  5. Repeat previous three steps until there are no air bubbles in the brake fluid.
