Front Disc Brake: Material

  1. Remove the wheel and tire assembly. For additional information, refer to SUSPENSION SYSTEM .
  2. Remove the components in the order indicated in the following illustrations. Remove the lower caliper bolt to remove the brake disc pads.

  3. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
  4. Bleed the brake system. For additional information, refer to BRAKE SYSTEM BLEEDING  .

Item 13: Brake Disc Shield Installation Note 

  1. Drill four 6.35 mm (0.25 in) holes in the wheel knuckle.

  2. Secure the brake disc shield to the wheel knuckle with 6.35 mm (0.25 in) rivets (W701950-S100).

Item 9: Brake Disc Installation Note 

    CAUTION: Make sure to apply a thin coat of anti-seize lubricant to the hub flange only. Do not allow the lubricant to make contact with the wheel studs, brake pads or brake disc.
  1. Apply a thin coat of anti-seize lubricant to the wheel hub flange.
