Engine Mount: Installation

    RH engine mount 

  1. Position the engine mount and bracket into the vehicle, and install the bolts.

    2. CAUTION: Clean the engine mount-to-cylinder block and engine mount-to-chassis mating surfaces of any dirt or foreign material prior to installation.

  2. Install the RH engine mount bolts in the sequence shown.
  3. Lower the engine into position.
  4. Install the starter motor. For additional information, refer to STARTERS .

    5. LH engine mount 

  5. Position the engine mount and bracket into the vehicle, and install the bolts.

    6. CAUTION: Clean the engine mount-to-cylinder block and engine mount-to-chassis mating surfaces of any dirt or foreign material prior to installation.

  6. Install the LH engine mount bolts in the sequence shown.
  7. Lower the engine into position.
    8. NOTE: Exhaust manifold removed for clarity.
    NOTE: Lubricate the new O-ring seal with clean engine oil.

  8. Position the oil level indicator and install the bolt.

    9. All engine mounts 

    CAUTION: Only use hand tools when installing the LH engine mount through bolt or damage to the cage nut can occur.
    NOTE: If the LH engine mount through bolt nut is missing or damaged install a new nut using service part number W709375. If the LH engine mount through bolt nut cage is damaged or missing, remove the cage and install a new nut using service part number W520516-S301.

  9. Install the LH engine mount through bolt.
    10. CAUTION: Only use hand tools when installing the LH engine mount nut or damage to the engine mount can occur.

  10. Install the RH engine mount nut.
    11. CAUTION: Only use hand tools when installing the transmission mount-to-crossmember nuts or damage to the transmission mount can occur.

  11. Install the transmission mount-to-crossmember nuts.
  12. If equipped, install the vibration damper and the bolts.

  13. Position the Y-pipe and install the four nuts.

  14. If equipped, install the skidplate.

  15. Position the fan shroud and install the bolts.

  16. Install the lower intake manifold. For additional information, refer to LOWER INTAKE MANIFOLD .
  17. Install the generator. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
  18. Install the air cleaner outlet tube. For additional information, refer to INTAKE AIR DISTRIBUTION & FILTERING .
  19. Connect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
