Fuel Charging Wiring Harness: Removal

WARNING: Do not smoke or carry lighted tobacco or open flame of any type when working on or near any fuel-related components. Highly flammable mixtures are always present and may be ignited, resulting in possible personal injury.

WARNING: Fuel in the fuel system remains under high pressure even when the engine is not running.

Position the power steering pump out of the way. For additional information, refer to POWER STEERING .
Remove the resonator and tube. For additional information, refer to INTAKE AIR DISTRIBUTION & FILTERING .
Disconnect the battery ground cable.
Remove the windshield wiper governor. For additional information, refer to WIPERS AND WASHERS .
Disconnect the idle air control (IAC) valve and the throttle position (TP) sensor

Disconnect the eight ignition coils.

Disconnect the eight fuel injectors.

Disconnect the electrical connectors.

Disconnect the engine bulkhead connectors.

Disconnect the electrical connectors.

Disconnect the LH heated oxygen sensor connector and the transmission electrical connectors.

Disconnect the RH heated oxygen sensor connector.

Disconnect the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister purge valve.

Disconnect the EGR vacuum regulator solenoid.

Disconnect the connector.

Disconnect the A/C cycling switch.

Raise the vehicle. For additional information, refer to JACKING & HOISTING .
Disconnect the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor and the power steering pressure (PSP) sensor electrical connector.

Disconnect the A/C compressor and the wiring harness retainers.

Disconnect the oil pressure sensor.

Disconnect the power steering electrical connector.

Lower the vehicle.
Separate the fuel charging wiring from the rear of the intake manifold and remove from the vehicle.
