Windshield Reseal

  1. Remove the cowl grille panel. For additional information, refer to FRONT END BODY PANELS .
  2. Remove the 2 windshield mouldings. For additional information, refer to WINDSHIELD MOULDING .
  3. Remove the screws and the 2 sun visors.
  4. Remove the screws and the 2 sun visor clips.
  5. Remove the 2 A-pillar trim panels.
  6. Position the 2 front door weatherstrips aside.
  7. If equipped, remove the 2 front passenger assist handles.
  8. Partially lower the front portion of the headliner and block with a suitable material.
  9. Clean the interior and exterior of the windshield glass surface with non-alcohol based glass cleaner.
  10. Cut the urethane adhesive applicator tip to specification.

  11. NOTE: Use either a high-ratio, electric or battery-operated caulk gun that applies the urethane with less effort and a continuous bead.
    NOTE: Make sure that all gaps in the urethane adhesive are smoothed into one continuous bead.
  12. Apply urethane adhesive over top of the existing urethane adhesive.
    • Apply the urethane to the top and sides of the windshield from the interior of the vehicle.
    • Apply the urethane to the bottom of the windshield from the exterior of the vehicle.
  13. NOTE: The urethane adhesive must cure for a minimum of 1 hour before testing for air or water leaks.
  14. After the urethane has cured, check the windshield seal for air or water leaks through the urethane bead and add urethane adhesive as necessary.
  15. Position the headliner.
  16. If equipped, install the 2 front passenger assist handles.
  17. Install the 2 front door weatherstrips.
  18. Install the 2 A-pillar trim panels.
  19. Install the 2 sun visor clips and screws.
  20. Position the 2 sun visors and install the screws.
    • Connect the electrical connectors.
  21. Install the 2 windshield mouldings. For additional information, refer to WINDSHIELD MOULDING .
  22. Install the cowl panel grille. For additional information, refer to FRONT END BODY PANELS .
