Crankshaft Pulley: Installation
- Apply a bead of silicone gasket and sealant to the keyway.
- Using the special tool, install the crankshaft pulley.
- Install a new bolt and tighten in 4 stages.
- Stage 1: Tighten to 80 Nm (59 lb-ft).
- Stage 2: Loosen 2 complete turns.
- Stage 3: Tighten to 50 Nm (37 lb-ft).
- Stage 4: Tighten an additional 90 degrees.
- Install the oil cooler. For additional information, refer to OIL COOLER .
- Install the accessory drive belt. For additional information, refer to ACCESSORY DRIVE .
- Install the cooling fan assembly. For additional information, refer to ENGINE COOLING .
- Install the noise suppressor (if detached) and the engine appearance cover.
- Connect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY MOUNTING AND CABLES .
NOTE:
If the crankshaft pulley is not secured within 4 minutes of sealant application, the sealant must be removed and the sealing area cleaned with metal surface cleaner. Allow to dry until there is no sign of wetness, or 4 minutes, whichever is longer. Failure to follow this procedure can cause future oil leakage.
CAUTION:
The engine appearance cover is equipped with a noise suppressor. If the noise suppressor becomes separated from the engine appearance cover it must be positioned on the intake manifold prior to installing the engine appearance cover.
