Brake Shift Interlock Actuator Manual Override

Activation 

1. NOTE: This vehicle is equipped with a brake shift interlock feature that prevents the vehicle from being moved out of P when the ignition is in the ON position until the brake pedal is applied.

   Proceed with this procedure if the vehicle cannot be moved out of the P position when the ignition is in the ON position and the brake pedal is applied. Check for brake shift interlock actuator DTC. If brake shift interlock actuator DTC are present, Refer to: External Controls 

2. Turn the ignition switch off and apply the parking brake.

3. NOTE: When the GSM flashes, the vehicle is in override mode.

   Using a small screwdriver, press and hold the brake shift interlock override switch.

4. While holding the brake shift interlock override switch, press the N button on the GSM.

5. Release the parking brake.
