Normal Operation and Fault Conditions 

The GSM contains 3 contacts beneath the center button. If one contact is not recognized by the GSM then DTC sets. The brake transmission shift interlock (BTSI) override switch has two redundant contacts that allow the vehicle to override the BTSI.

GSM: DTC Fault Trigger Conditions 

DTC Description Fault Trigger Conditions
P07EC Transmission Range Multi- Function Select Circuit This DTC sets in continuous memory if two Brake Transmission Shift Interlock (BTSI) override switch inputs do not change state, P07EC may set. A message is displayed on the message center warning that a given range is unavailable.
P07EC Transmission Range Multi- Function Select Circuit Stuck A DTC P07ED can be set in "History", if the Center Button is held down for 30 seconds or more. If DTC P07ED is set in continuous' memory continue with the diagnostics. The GSM contains 3 contacts beneath the center button. If two or more contacts report 'closed' for 30 seconds or more, the GSM then sets DTC P07ED.
