Automatic Transmission External Controls DTCS: GSM
NOTE:
If a GSM self-test is performed, the driver door must be closed and locked. A false P166B DTC sets if the driver door is opened or unlocked during the self-test.
NOTE:
If a GSM self-test is performed, do not apply the brake pedal. A false P081F DTC sets if the brake pedal is applied during the self-test.

| P07EC | Transmission Range Multi-Function Select Circuit | The Brake Transmission Shift Interlock (BTSI) override switch contains 2 contacts. If one of the 2 contacts is not recognized by the GSM, P07EC may set. CLEAR the DTC. PERFORM the GSM self-test. If the DTC returns, INSTALL a new GSM. REFER to: Gear Shift Module (GSM) |
| P07ED | Transmission Range Multi-Function Select Circuit Stuck | The GSM contains 3 contacts beneath each button. If two or more contacts are not recognized by the GSM then DTC P07ED sets. The Brake Transmission Shift Interlock (BTSI) override switch contains 2 contacts. If one of the 2 contacts is not recognized by the GSM, P07EC may set. CLEAR the DTC. PERFORM the GSM self-test. If the DTC returns, INSTALL a new GSM. REFER to: Gear Shift Module (GSM) |

| P081F | Brake Transmission Shift Interlock (BTSI) Signal Correlation | This DTC by itself points to an issue with the redundant BTSI input wire between the GSM and BCM. Perform on demand self test with the GSM without the brake depressed. If the DTC returns, go to Pinpoint Test D for a short to power. If DTC does not return, apply brake for 30 seconds. If the DTC returns, proceed to Pinpoint Test D for a open circuit or short to ground. the network test. If DTC (diagnostic trouble code) P081F returns, GO to Pinpoint Test D |

| P166B | Drivers Door Status Correlation | Open then close the drivers door and cycle the door locks.
