Measuring Rear Axle Speed Sensor Clearance
- Measure distance "A" between sensor rotor teeth and sensor attaching surface. See Figure . Measure distance "B" between sensor attaching surface and sensor metal tip.
- Subtract measurement "B" from measurement "A" to get specified clearance. See SPEED SENSOR CLEARANCE SPECIFICATIONS table. If clearance is less than specification, adjust during installation using Adjustment Shim (P049-27-155). If clearance exceeds specification, replace speed sensor.
