Section 66 (Anti-Lock Brake System): Description
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1994 Mazda MX-3. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
The Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) control unit senses reductions in front and rear wheel speed and modulates hydraulic pressure to the brakes to prevent wheel lock-up. The ABS consists of hydraulic unit, relay box, 4 speed sensors and sensor rotors, Data Link Connector (DLC), and ABS control unit. See Fig 1 . An ABS warning light is located on the instrument panel.
