Section 117 (Anti-Lock Brake System): Description

The Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) control module senses reductions in rear wheel speed and modulates hydraulic pressure to the brakes to prevent rear wheel lock-up. The ABS consists of a hydraulic unit, speed sensor, sensor rotor, pressure differential switch, ABS relay, short connector and ABS control module. See Fig 1. An ABS warning light is located on the instrument cluster.
