Test Procedure

  1. Connect pressure gauge to line pressure test port. See Fig 1 . Start engine. Apply service and parking brakes. Check pressure in all gears. See LINE PRESSURE SPECIFICATIONS  table.
  2. If line pressure is not within specification, disconnect line pressure gauge and reinstall plug. Remove Electronic Pressure Control (EPC) test plug. See Fig 2 . Connect pressure gauge to EPC test port. Start engine. Apply service and parking brakes. Check pressure in all gears. See EPC PRESSURE SPECIFICATIONS  table.
  3. If EPC or line pressure is not within specification, perform PINPOINT TEST E. See appropriate ELECTRONIC CONTROLS article. If no electronic faults are present, perform air pressure test. See AIR PRESSURE TEST  . Service valve body or pump as required. See LINE PRESSURE DIAGNOSIS  .
