Cruise Control Systems: Operation
The system is operational only at speeds more than 30 MPH. Cruise control servo moves throttle through the actuator cable. Pressing ON switch will activate system. When SET/ACCEL switch has been pressed, vehicle speed will be maintained until new speed is set, brake pedal is applied, or cruise control OFF switch has been pressed.
On vehicles with M/T, a CPP switch disengages the system to prevent engine overspeed when the clutch is operated. System is deactivated when cruise control servo terminal No. 4 looses continuity to ground (through brakelights), or senses 12 volts from BOO switch.
