Anti-Theft System: Description
Anti-theft system is designed to prevent unauthorized entry into the passenger or engine compartment. When triggered, system will provide audible and visual alarms. Horn will sound, and parking lights and hazard lights will flash. Starter system will also be disabled, preventing vehicle from being started until alarm system has been deactivated.
System is controlled by a Remote Anti-Theft Personality (RAP) module. When system is armed, unauthorized entry will be detected by switches located in each door, a hood switch, or ignition tamper switch. Hood switch is monitored by RAP module. Door switches are monitored by Generic Electronic Module (GEM). GEM signals RAP module when a door is ajar. A THEFT indicator is located on instrument cluster.
