No-Load Test

Measure and record base voltage. See BASE VOLTAGE TEST . Start engine. Turn off all electrical loads (leave doors closed and foot off of brake pedal). With engine running at 1500 RPM, check battery voltage.

• If voltage is about 2 volts greater than base voltage, go to LOAD TEST .
• If voltage is more than about 2 volts greater than base voltage, go to HIGH VOLTAGE TEST .
• If voltage is less than about 2 volts greater than base voltage, go to LOW VOLTAGE TEST .
