Mass Airflow (MAF) Sensor
- If MAF sensor circuit is open or shorted, a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) should set. See appropriate TESTS W/CODES article. If any DTCs are present, repair as necessary. If no DTCs are present, go to next step.
- To check MAF sensor, disconnect MAF sensor connector. Check for damaged or pushed out pins, corrosion and loose wires. Repair as necessary. Reconnect connector. Connect New Generation Star (49 T088 0A0) scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC) 2.
- DLC is located under left side of instrument panel, right of steering column. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, access DIAGNOSTIC DATA LINK menu, and select PCM. Highlight and select PID/DATA MONITOR AND RECORD.
- Using scan tool, access MAF PID and record PID voltage while operating vehicle under specified condition. Refer to the MASS AIRFLOW (MAF) SENSOR VOLTAGE table. If MAF PID voltage is not as specified, replace MAF sensor.

| Condition | PID Voltage |
|---|---|
| Ignition On | 0 |
| Hot Idle | .8 |
| Driving 30 MPH | .8 2.0 |
| Driving 55 MPH | 1.5 2.5 |
