Drive Cycle Procedure: Preparation

  1. The inlet air temperature (or ambient air temperature) for all vehicle applications must be between 4-38° C (40-100° F) to initiate the OBD-II Drive cycle. Check the IAT PID on the scan tool.
  2. Warm the vehicle up to at least an engine coolant temperature of 54° C (130° F)
  3. Attach a scan tool (if available) and access the On-Board Readiness Menu. The scan tool will send out a three pulse beep when all the monitors have completed and the code P1000 is erased.
