Alarm Phase 1

  1. Using hood release lever, open hood. If security light goes off, horn sounds, and headlights and hazard lights flash, replace CPU and retest system. If security light flashes continuously at 3 second intervals, go to next step. If horn does not sound, go to step 4). If headlights do not flash, go to step 5). If hazard lights do not flash, go to step 6). If any other combination of events happens, replace CPU and retest system.
  2. Check hood switch. See HOOD SWITCH  under COMPONENT TESTS. If hood switch is faulty, replace switch and retest system. If hood switch is okay, go to next step.
  3. Check wiring harness between CPU and hood switch. If fault is found, repair wiring as necessary. If wiring is okay, replace CPU and retest system.
  4. Check wiring harness between CPU and horn relay. If fault is found, repair wiring as necessary. If wiring is okay, replace CPU and retest system.
  5. Check wiring harness between CPU and headlight relay. If fault is found, repair wiring as necessary. If wiring is okay, replace CPU and retest system.
  6. Check wiring harness between CPU and flasher unit. If fault is found, repair wiring as necessary. If wiring is okay, replace CPU and retest system.
