Diagnosis & Testing: Notes

NOTE: The control module used on vehicles with traction control is known as ABS/TCS CM. In this article ABS/TCS CM will be referred to as ABS CM.

ABS/TCS related DTCs are retrieved by using New Generation Star (NGS) scan tool (49-T088-0A0 ) and NGS Self-Test Adapter (49-T088-003 ). See RETRIEVING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES . Test ABS CM using DVOM. See ABS CONTROL MODULE under COMPONENT TESTS.

If ABS test equipment is unavailable, test each component of ABS. See test procedures under COMPONENT TESTS . If all ABS components test okay, replace ABS CM with a known-good module and retest system.
