Cylinder Block

  1. Inspect cylinder block deck surface for warpage. Replace cylinder block if deck warpage exceeds specification. See CYLINDER BLOCK  under ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS.
  2. Measure cylinder bore diameter just below top of bore, 2.0" (50 mm) below top of bore, and just above bottom of bore cylinder. Ensure cylinder bore diameter, taper and out-of-round are within specification. See Table 7. CYLINDER BLOCK  under ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS. Replace cylinder block if maximum bore diameter, taper or out-of-round is exceeded.
