Headliner Removal/Installation

- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Partially peel back the seaming welt.
- Remove the sunroof seaming welt. (Vehicles with sunroof only)
- Remove the A-pillar trims.
- Remove the B-pillar upper trims.
- Remove the C-pillar trims.
- Remove the D-pillar trims. (Sport Wagon)
- Remove the front and rear map lights. (See FRONT MAP LIGHT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .) (See REAR MAP LIGHT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Remove the cargo compartment light. (See CARGO COMPARTMENT LIGHT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [5-DOOR, SPORT WAGON] .)
- Disconnect the auto-dimming mirror connector. (Vehicles with auto-dimming mirror only)
- Remove the sunvisors.
- Remove the assist handle.
- Remove the net anchor. (Sport Wagon)
- Disconnect the roof harness connector, remove the clip, and remove the connector.
- Disconnect the rear washer hose. (5-Door, Sport Wagon)
- Place the rear center seat belt bezel out of the way of the headliner. (Sport Wagon)
- Remove the fasteners.
- Remove the retainer holding the roof panel and remove the headliner.
- Take the headliner off from the passenger-side door opening. (Sedan, 5-Door)
- Take the headliner off from the liftgate opening. (Sport Wagon)
- Install in the reverse order of removal.
